My husband and I had our first experience with donkeys 9 years ago.
We owned some mountainous hunting land and purchased a large standard donkey and her 8 week old colt to use for hunting "transportation". It didn't take long before we were hooked on donkeys! We knew one day we would have many more. A few years later we graduated to Mammoth Jackstock. Now we have a small farm in Purcellville, Virginia. We have two 4 year old geldings that we ride, but have found that people "in our neck of the woods" really don't have that much experience or exposure to donkeys, especially Mammoth Jackstock.
So because of our endearing love for the Mammoth Donkey, we decided we needed to get the word out about these wonderful animals in the Mid Atlantic Region of the U.S. Our focus is to raise healthy, sturdy saddle donkeys and to promote the Mammoth Jackstock in hopes that others will get as much enjoyment out of these loving animals as we do. Each donkey on our farm is handled daily. Our foals will come to you able to lead, trailer load and will be farrier/ vet friendly. Occasionally, we will have a donkey already saddle trained for sale.
